MOST INSPIRING MAN OF THE YEAR 2009

Most Inspiring Man of the year. Ever since his early teens, David Tree he has been actively involved in the community. His unwavering commitment is what has made him the most deserving recipient of Momentum Forum Most inspiring man of the Year Award for 2009.In whatever way he could, he was always looking for ways to be involved in the community- from driving a local school bus, participating in World Vision, sending shipping containers full of supplies to people in Mozambique and working with adults with varying degrees of disabilities.From the age of 17, Mr Tree has been a member of the country fire authority North Victoria. It is Mr Tree's constant dedication to community service that has brought David national and international fame. During the shocking Victorian Bush Fires in early 2009, Mr Tree was captured on film giving water to a Koala who became affectionately known as 'Sam'. This image not only caught the attention of Australians, but people around the globe. In the midst of the most devastating conditions imaginable, this image managed to bring hope to many people. Since that day, the generosity of people to raise funds for the Bush Fire Appeal has been outstanding. To this day, David has had no financial gain from these events. We are proud to acknowledge this man of the community as the Momentum Forum's Man of the Year.
